Ardent Legacy Ventures began with a deeply personal idea: to build something lasting.
After being widowed at a young age, founder Shauna Visser began thinking differently about legacy—not simply as something we leave behind, but something we cultivate, grow and build together.
With a career rooted in property management, affordable housing and real estate, and a family history of being active in the community, the vision for Ardent became larger than investment alone.
It became about creating opportunity, exploring better ways of doing things, strengthening communities and building something her children could one day help carry forward.

Shauna Visser has spent over two decades working within affordable housing and property management, with experience spanning property operations, regulatory compliance, acquisitions and rehabilitation, organizational systems, training, data analytics and emerging technology.
Her career has given her a view of real estate from the ground up—from the individual household and property level to portfolio-wide operations and the systems that influence how housing is financed, managed and sustained.
Over time, her focus has expanded beyond solving today’s operational challenges to asking what comes next: How will technology, data and artificial intelligence change the way we identify opportunity, manage real estate and build communities? How can affordable housing participate in that evolution rather than react to it?
That curiosity is central to Ardent. Shauna brings together practical industry experience with a willingness to question established processes, explore emerging ideas and look for connections between housing, investment, technology and community.
